Paint it Black. Clothing Design, Textile Design. 2014.

This line was designed as a “not-so-basic” collection of basics. The centerpiece of the collection is a hand-painted, silk and cotton reversible dress.

Beetle Ball - Clothing Design, Textile Design, Leatherwork. 2014.

For my capsule collection for Black Hearts Ball 2014, I researched one of the oldest and most diverse species of animal life, the beetle. Drawn to the varied cultural significance and the physical form of the beetle, each of the outfits represents a unique species. I also incorporated cochineal, a natural dye made from the beetle of the same name, and a hand-molded leather mask/corset. Photography by Rhea Papas.

Velocipede - Clothing Design. 2013.

For the Retrorama event at the Minnesota History Center, I created two outfits inspired by the history of bicycling. After examining the relevant garments in the History Center’s Collection and gathering images of old bicycles and velocipedes, I designed looks that mimic the curves while being practical for leisurely cycling rides. Sci - Fi Couture - Clothing Design, Textile Design. 2011.

I created this line for the Voltage fashion show in 2011. Inspired by science fiction films from the 1960’s - 1980’s, this line features hand-painted silk juxtaposed with structural elements made from leather and canvas made from recycled water bottles. I wanted the pieces to have versatility, so I played with layering more avant-garde pieces over simpler silhouettes.

It’s Raining, It’s Pouring - Clothing Design, Jewelry Design. 2010

Reevolution - Clothing Design, Textile Design. 2005-2010

My first line of clothing was called Reevolution and was comprised of one-of-a-kind pieces created from recycled materials. I often dyed the fabric and sometimes deconstructed fabric to thread before sewing it back together to make a kind of chaotic lace. These are a few selected photos from my Reevolution years.
